Our Home: One Year Anniversary
Today, I believe, marks one year from the date we closed on our first home. It was definitely one of the most stressful days of my life and one I'd not want to experience again. Things have improved markedly from there. We've had a good year here together and made so many changes. It is amazing the memories of a single year. The first that come to mind are the miscarriage, this pregnancy, the bar exam, B learning so many new things from songs to counting, to early potty training and his first big boy bed, Brent's new job, B's big birthday and many small parties along the way. We even had Christmas with my family here this year.
There have been physical changes to the house too including more plants, ceiling fans, a light fixture, faucet, three rooms have been painted, and a myriad of art, furniture and small improvements. It definitely feels more "ours" than a year ago. Our goal for our home is that it be comfortable, welcoming and always open to our friends and family as well as being our own little haven. I hope that we made strides in that this first year. Know you are always welcome and thank you for sharing our first year in our first home.
(Was going to have some pictures of the house a year ago and then recently, but discovered I don't have any recent ones so you'll have to make do with a picture of B helping prune the flowers and bushes in the the front bed in May along with the two shots of the house. The first one is from a year ago today and the other from October, I believe).
