Cousins Play Date!

Thus far, B only has one cousin, John, who lives in Texas. Sadly, that means we don't get to plan quite as much as I think everyone would prefer. Lucky for us, John and his mom made a trip up this week and schedule in time for the boys just to hang out.

The play date began with the usual wariness (top picture) but by the time it ended there were plenty of smiles and shared commraderie. We began by playing with B's robots, and various other toys indoors, but T-Rex had to be banished to Maggie's room as John highly disapproved. Maggie hung with the boys for awhile, but drifted off to nap as the boys headed outside.

The beautiful weather was a great asset as we got to run and play outdoors, which is very popular with small boys. As you can see, our backyard is full of balls of all shapes and sizes with plenty to go around. The boys took turns with t-ball, hocky, golf, soccer and many more. They topped off the fun with a little musical interlude featuring the recorder and whistle before their picnic lunch while Moms contemplated part-time jobs and the fun of small boys together.

I have no clue what was going on by the fence in the last picture, but they were out there for quite awhile and seemed to be really enjoying whatever it was. We were so sad to see them go and hopeful that we'll have many more wonderful days just for playing together!
