Vote Update

Just so you all know I'm serious and am walking the walk on this one - Just spent 2 hours and 6 minutes waiting to vote with little B around nap/lunch time. There are no hotly contested issues, I think it is clear who will win in Oklahoma and the wind was sweeping down the plains (or at least around the exterior of the church where we waited to vote). Not going to say the whole time was easy, but it was awesome to see so many people involved. Most surprising thing other than the incredible wait---apparently the Mayor of OKC is only paid $24,000 - there was a ballot measure to raise it to $48,000... who knew he made so little?

With a few cookies, crackers and friends in line we made it and I'm so glad I did it. Thanks for all the country wide updates from my buddies, glad to hear it is going (if slowly). For those of you not out yet, best wishes and bring a some water!

Wow, that's a really long wait! I voted in the 2004 election in OKC, and I remember waiting at least an hour. Maybe they need to open up new polling locations next time!

Yeah, I think partially there were way too many m-z names and plenty of space for those earlier in the alphabet could have gone more quickly. Who knows!

That's an idea, change your last name to Aaaaaaarichards! You'd be first for everything!

We even had a line (two people) at Mt. Hope this morning. Record breaking event. I think Danny and I were the only ones pushing for our side of the ballot though. Oh well. There were four people scattered over the church voting. Cool stuff.

I was in line all of 5 minutes! It was great. The line of A-J was the longest where I was, otherwise, I would have had no wait. :) Ours was at a middle school about 15 minutes after it let out.
