Tubes

The verdict is lil' B will get tubes in a couple weeks. I sort of think that once the Doctor heard the progression it was a foregone conclusion regardless of what his ears looked like. In part, that is because today, for once, it appears he doesn't have an ear infection. However, they say it will make future infections easier to effectively treat and reduce the likelihood of their occurrence. The procedure takes 5-10 minutes in the office with local anesthetic drops. He will need to wear ear plugs when swimming for awhile, but should otherwise be fine by the end of that day. I'm still not 100% sure it is necessary as everything is fine now, the weather is improving, he hasn't had a cold in quite awhile and isn't in child care, but then again don't want him to be in frustrated pain again. We'll talk it over a bit more, but suspect we'll do it on the Doctor's advice and others' assurances that it is really not a big deal.
