Ten on Tuesday

1. The kids are starting to play dress up. I love it. B puts on his robot costume and has M put on her wings or tutu. So adorable:)

2. As I've noted in several places, all of us but B are/were on antibiotics (although technically M just finished). I took the astonishing position of going to the Dr early in my illness and am hoping to not get as sick as Brent was last week.

3. I love the Olympics! I also love watching B appreciate them for the first time. He seems fascinated and it is so much fun to share!

4. I may have mentioned we don't have cable. I've discovered that people think we're a bit odd, but it suits us. During the Olympics Brent had to explain to B what commercials are, why they exist, how they work, etc... as he just hasn't seen them much before as he usually just watches DVDs or streaming things via the Roku. It was a funny moment, but made me kinda happy too.

5. B is starting to play games more. On President's Day we played lots of UNO MOO  and the Goodnight Moon Game. He isn't always that great at following the rules, but we're working on it.  (Thanks to Hoppers and Joneses for these games).

6. I love three day weekends. They are perfect. Plenty of time to do what we need to do and plenty of time to just spend time together as a family.

7.  We tried this Drip Beef Sandwich recipe (Second variation) from The Pioneer Woman's blog.  It was good, but not spectacular.  I think I like Brent's mom's version better:)  In fairness, I didn't precisely follow the instructions and used wine rather than sherry at Tracie's suggestion and used beef broth instead of just water.

8.  My style does not tend toward modern, admittedly.  I stumbled upon this website with funny commentary on some modernist design from the perspective of the people in the pictures.  You might check out Unhappy Hippsters from some quick smiles:)

9. Don't these S'More cupcakes look divine? Wonder how many WW points they are, and thinking it might be worth it anyway.  For now, making me happy just thinking about it and my birthday is coming up...  Also, should I ever make Monkey Bread from scratch this will definitely be the recipe I use!  Getting hungry yet?

10.  Exercise going well.  Did, for the first time in a long while, exercise every day last week in a weird mix of different activities to deal with my wacky schedule due to Board work + snow storm in DC + Brent being sick.  WW going well. I think a pound loss this week.  Did very good during the week and very bad on the weekend so need to work on that.  In general, feeling better about myself and that's really the point, right?  Still loving Zumba and completely sore each time I do the 30 Day Shred.

Hope you all are having a great week and so hoping I can hope that next week we're all feeling better!

Your link to the monkey bread didn't work. But I read the smitten kitchen blog post about it, so I know exactly what it was supposed to link to. Such inadvertent cruelty, Abbey, to make people miss out--it looks amazing.

P.S. The SK fried rice recipe a few days back was awesome. We've made it twice in the past week.

P.P.S. Andy is now also a SK addict.
