Brendan had his 18 month check up yesterday with the new Doctor here in Edmond. The visit went fine and he is a healthy little guy, although already entering what the Doctor terms the terrible "too"s as they last too long, are too dramatic, and two painful for everyone and have nothing to do with t.w.o. In any case, we had a bit of a rough day yesterday, but today is much better. We're just in a place where consistent discipline is as much a part of our day as the fascinating and wonderful language explosion.
And now what you've been waiting for--- the stats:
Height: 35.75 inches (97%)
Weight: 32 pounds (97%)
Head Circumference: 52.5 centimeters (97%)
Leading the Doctor to ask if he as "always been big?" Yes, indeed and he is a bundle of energy. Some other fun facts:
Favorite book: Bluebird's Nest -- bought in MO when visiting Aunt Audra and Uncle Zach. He is much more into books now. He brings us book after book and even manages to sit still long enough for us to read most of them.
Favorite food: Peanut butter- absolutely thought his world would end yesterday when I wasn't understanding his deep seated need for peanut butter. (Ask Scott Hopper if you think I'm kidding as he witnessed the most incredible melt-down over this - our profound apologies Scott). Pizza is probably a close second. Sadly for B he doesn't get to have these nearly as often as more OK thinks like apples, bananas, grapes, yogurt, and beans.
Favorite activity: Being outside is obviously number one. However, his second favorite and closing is hiding things. We find things in just the most peculiar places, but that may be a story of its own.

So many things to comment on. Let's see...
The peanut butter thing is NOT surprising, as I seem to remember Brendan's mother loving that too!
Wow, our boys are basically the same height! When we move back to Oklahoma, we're going to have to get our boys playing basketball together or something.
Tantrums are so very much a part of our lives too...Timothy had a meltdown because I committed the mortal sin of putting a cap on an empty Mountain Dew bottle. The horror! He threw himself on the ground over it. I admit, I laughed. He got a nap shortly after.
I'm glad that he is doing well, and I hope you are having a very good time in your new home.
Well, we will have to get teh "birds nest" as John has similar taste in books as B. His "squishy turtle" book goes everywhere with us!
Wonder how his love for being outstide will be for his Mom and Dad this winter? :)
Jamie, turns out the actual name of the book is "Bluebird's nest" We'll try to find a John a copy when he's a bit older as it definitely is fun and tactile, but the pop-up page takes a little self-restraint... not that B always has it either.
