We had a very fun weekend. It was a good blend of family, fun and time together at home. Saturday morning we puttered around the house, went to Starbucks and did our normal yard work/clean the house/napping type things. When B woke up we headed to Brent's parents house to watch the football game with Grammy. It was a hoot. Brendan did lots of exploring, but mainly stayed near so I think he got some football watching in too and the Sooners were victorious. Next, we headed up to the farm to visit the other Grandparents. We did a little playing before bedtime, but the big fun was the next day. We started bright and early with mass at Bison which was a great opportunity to reconnect with some old friends. Then B rode around with Grandpa got wet in water-play with Grandma and even met some chickens before lunch with Great-Grandma and Great-Uncle David. So much fun and so much space to run around on the farm. At the moment, he seems much more interested in lawn mowers than chickens, but does seem to enjoy chasing the cats (I'm sure Uncle Able would approve).
Brendan and I seem to have little colds now so we're taking it pretty easy. I head to DC on Thursday so it will be a weird week for everyone. Thankfully, Gavin has agreed to watch B on Friday morning and Grammy will watch him Saturday as Brent has Parent's Day at work so I think it will all work out. I, meanwhile, will stop in to work at GW on Friday and reconnect with people there, stay with my buddies Emily, Dave and Calista, visit Holly and Dwight and get to enjoy Lori and Phil's wedding with our friends. It is going to be an awesome week and thanks to all of you who are helping make all the logistics possible and taking such good care of all of us, particularly our sweet boy. We so appreciate being surrounded both here and in DC with wonderful friends and family.
Correction: Brendan's favorite book for those inquiring is actually Bluebird's Nest by Dorothea Deprisco, sorry for the confusion.

We so enjoyed Brendan Saturday. After playing hard all morning, he and Grandaddy took a 2 hour nap in the chair. Grandaddy's snoring didn't seem to bother him. What a picture!
