Happy Labor Day to all!
First, welcome Samantha Yen Vo born on Friday afternoon in Houston to our dear friends Brian and Linh. The pictures are adorable and her parents both came through the experience well. Congratulations and we can't wait to meet the little one!
I promise to write sometime this week about our fun rejoining of the Sooner Nation at the OU football game on Saturday, but yesterday, after much delay--- we finally took Brendan's 18 month photos! Yes, he is more than 19 months old, but July was just too crazy. (If you click on the title above it will take you to the photos-- at least I think it will). The picture taking itself was quite the ordeal. We were trying a new place here called Portrait Innovations that was recommended by several people. Our appointment was at 3:10, but when we arrived they told us they were more than an hour behind schedule!! Most of you know about both my need to be on time and how long an hour of waiting is with a 18 month old. We left and went book shopping for awhile and came back to wait some more. Brendan actually seemed to have a great time with all the people there and all the little kids. I, actually, was probably the least patient of the group... Ok, so you might have predicted that.... In any case, when we finally had our turn we did pictures of Brent and I, the whole family and many of Brendan alone. I think they worked out really well despite the chaos. We might try it again on a less busy day.
After that, we headed over to Erik and Kelli's for an impromptu BBQ and some quality time with the godfather:) That definitely improved our mood and Brendan had a great time with the "puppies." Today, we have all sorts of Labor Day fun on tap, but I'll be back later in the week with tales of the football game. Have a wonderful day!

LOVE the pictures! I think this is the age that they go from looking like a baby to looking like a little boy. He is so precious!
