Maggie is blessed to have lots of glorious soft hair. However, her Mama is not so gifted at knowing what to do with it. M's hair is getting long enough to get in her eyes sometimes so we're constantly smoothing it away and pondering clips. Part of the complication is a massive cowlick (I blame Brent). It is a cute swirl in the back, but makes a somewhat tricky hair pattern overall. We've tried tiny bows (that actually stay in! Thanks Marilyn!)
We've tried flowers--- that are in for a moment, but usually too much temptation.
We've attempted those soft baby girl headbands, but with her Mom's weird head shape they don't usually stay in that long. I've bought some bigger bows, but decided she doesn't have enough hair for those clips yet and the flexing kind don't seem to work that well either.
As you can tell, I'm sort of starting to think it isn't the clips, the hair or the head shape, but maybe just user error? I'm relatively bright and do have lots of hair, but am struggling, I'll admit. I guess we'll just keep trying.
Our latest attempt - double bows. Oddly, when we put these in she just looked entirely different to me. They didn't last long, but it was pretty cute:)
(Yeah, not the best picture ever, but just had to show you the new look :))

Wow! You are so right...she looks different with "two" bows! You are lucky that she has beautiful hair. Poor little Ashtyn looks like a little ol man.
Maggie is totally rocking the bows. She looks like such a big girl with the two bow look but I love it!!!
We've found the little tiny rubber bands work best on baby fine hair. With those you have to worry about breakage though, so we don't do it everyday, more for special occasions. You can use the rubber bands though and then clip the bows over the rubber bands to look cute. For everyday we just sweep hair to the side, which ends up looking crazy by the end of the day with all her rolling around and head-burying crawling attempts.
