Ten on Tuesday - Week in the Life Edition

1. Tracie and I have been having an awesome time preparing for my siblings visits.  On Saturday we learned some valuable lessons about candy making and eventually conquered our recipes despite several problems.  Today, we made more candy we've been working on posters for Able's marathon.  I love living near Tracie. We have so much fun!

2. Maggie has decided she needs to learn how to use sippy cups.  Whenever she finds one of B's laying around she will turn it in all possible directions to try and get something out.  She sometimes succeeds, but tends to just suck in a lot of air.  They are also working on taking turns sharing the cup and doing fairly well. Perhaps we should get her her own. B says she needs one with flowers on it.

3. I am, apparently, becoming the apostle of Zumba.  This week I've introduced both Tracie and Bethany to the wonders of my favorite exercise past-time.  The first class for Bethany on Friday evening was hard for a first class. I loved the instructor though and hope to go again sometime.  Tracie, Bethany and I all went today and had a much easier instructor.  Chrissie is also joining in the fun with her own DVDs.  I am so glad other people are enjoying my new favorite pastime.

4.  I've randomly been on a Scrapbooking spree of late.  I've actually managed to do 10+ layouts in the last two weeks.  I participated a little bit in Shimelle's online crop this weekend which helped.  Brent was also at guy's night on Friday so I had my own dance/scrapbooking party in the office---only to discover the blinds were open.... In any case,   I'll share some of the layouts here soon.

5.  Today for dinner I made Ginger Fried Rice from the Smitten Kitchen on Mary's recommendation.  It was actually very tasty and not too time consuming.  I even enjoyed the leeks I've been shying away from for years after a leek recipe that went rather wrong years ago.  This one may be a keeper!

6. It is time for a weight loss update.  You might notice I tend to only do these when I'm making progress.  The exciting news is that I lost 3.5 pounds last week!  The less exciting news is I maybe lost one or two pounds in all of March.  I did an excellent job of exercising 3-6 times a week, but really did nothing productive about food.  As usual, I recommitted to my WW plan last week and it worked really well.  The first week is always big, so we'll see how this week goes.  My goal is to lose another five by Maggie's baptism in June, which now seems quite doable.  I'll let you know.

7. I also made it to get my hair cut and colored today for the first time since December. It feels so nice and I had such a good time chatting with Janna while she worked. I feel so lucky to get to have her do my hair!  Meanwhile, B stayed with Ms. Courtney for the first time.  I think it went OK.  He seemed to enjoy it, but was as usual ready to go when I returned.  Lady M had to stay for the rest of the afternoon until Daddy brought her happily home.

8.  B for the second time in two weeks sort of declined to really nap today.  I suspect he wasn't that active at Ms. Courtney's.  He went down nicely, but I could hear him playing in there an hour or more later.  I let him come out, watch some of the Fly Me to the Moon  movie while he had a little snack.  Then, I returned him to try again later while I took my important call.  He "may" have slept for a little while, but not nearly as much as usual.  Days like this worry me, but I'm hoping they continue to be rare for at least awhile longer.

9. I am so incredibly excited about my brother and sister coming to visit this weekend.  We do have a lot planned with the shower and the marathon events, but I'm so excited to just spend a little more time with them.  Love you Audra & Able!

10. Hmm, a plan, a plan, a plan.  I really probably need to be just a tiny bit more prepared for the shower Saturday.  I almost have the menu completed, but haven't cleaned, grocery shopped or finished some of the other related preparations.  I suddenly feel like I have much less time to do that as Audra arrives on Thursday and I suspect she doesn't want to clean or grocery shop with me.... I'm sure I can work it out. I always do, right?  So I'm off to work on that and below you'll find today's collage. Enjoy!

If you're bothered about being caught dancing with your blinds open, I'll just remind you of two little words... Anna Jo. :) That should at least bring you a laugh!

I can rarely keep my kiddos from sharing cups. Nathaniel still didn't get sick last time that Timothy did, so I guess it's not too bad.

Naps...well, Timothy has given up his nap entirely. I hope that doesn't bring you down too much! He is required to have "room time" which it sounds like you already do too, and since he is used to giving you a little time and space to work, the transition should be easy for both of you...but hopefully it will happen far into the future. ;)

Have a great day!
