Planting Maggie's Wood

Today, we participated in Project 350's global work day by helping plant Maggie's Wood at my parents' farm.  My family brought six small oaks and a cotton wood we were attempting to transplant and joined with about 20 or so other friends and family to plant more than 30 trees in the first phase of the event (we haven't precisely counted as it started raining). In the second phase, people broke up into various teams.  Some cleaned up some old fallen trees, weeded and re-mulched the burn and others sat and spent time together. Christal, for example, also let the art team art team that painted 350 and designs on the garden building.  It was lovely.

I particularly appreciated that Tracie and Sarah (aka "My People") came and brought lovely willow trees with them, but they were two of  many people that brought trees, tools and good will including our friends and dear neighbors the Hladiks.  We ended the day with dinner together before the storms blew in. There are many cool pictures, but these are my favorites (slight bias towards my own family here, but I'm sure my Mom will post more soon).

As usual, many of these photo including the amazing photo above are thanks to my bestie Tracie who helps make sure I actually appear in our family photos. Thanks lady!
