Santa brought them a tremendously fun kitchen/laundry center. M clapped as soon as she saw it and dove right in. B headed for his coveted Buzz Lightyear laptop (#1 request from Santa this year). Both kids were almost as delighted by the candy canes in their stockings as the presents. B got cool things like a train, small puzzles, yoyo, and a maze book. M got a purse with accessories in it, her Nutcracker wand, hair clips, paper for coloring, a small stuffed dog, big pearly beads and all sorts of other interesting tidbits.
Once the stockings had been fully plundered we moved over to the tree for family presents. M's favorites included a new baby, tennis shoes, and wooden sandwich fixings

At the farm, everyone was up and ready for Christmas fun. There was a shower of presents all around and B was right in the center of all the merriment as official helper. He helped with distribution and opened presents for anyone that needed a hand. Aunt Audra got us fabulous stashes of pretend food, including an awesome Melissa & Doug wooden pizza kit
After presents, we made lunch and talked with my Grandpa while grazing the sweets table. After a delicious lunch, I gave in and, of all things, actually took a nap. I did miss my Uncle David's visit, but felt much better afterwards. It was a quiet evening punctuated with homemade pizza and the arrival of Katie, Able's girlfriend. It was a wonderful and full Christmas missing only my Dad to be truly complete. We thought of him often and remembered a bit prior Christmases with him, but mostly enjoyed being together. A very Merry Christmas!
(Stay tuned, there is going to be one more day. I planned to end here, but with the merriment that was the 26th the saga will continue for one more day).
