Ten on Tuesday

1.  Jogging update - Finally broke through the three mile barrier today.  Run felt really hard, but was a nice surprise at the end. This was a personal fitness victory regardless of the miles as it was definitely a day where I would much rather have curled up on my couch and done nothing after a crazy afternoon, but made it out the door!

2.  B resumed swimming lessons this evening.  I am told it went well. M and I stayed home and went jogging so everyone got a bit of physical fitness at once for good family fun.

3.  I am in the midst of attempting to order pictures. I basically only do this quarterly so it ends up being a huge time consuming process.  If you are ready to order some Snapfish has a coupon codes for $3 for 300 or $1 for 100 prints (Spooky300 or Spooky100)-- sadly doesn't include shipping.

4.  This weekend I finally made it to the Sam Noble Natural History Museum in Norman. I think pretty much everyone but Maggie and I had been.  The Hoppers joined us and we had a good two ours of fun wandering through the museum and chasing munchkins while the adults caught up a bit.  Very nice start to a busy weekend.

5.  Sunday afternoon we went to the Country Financial Halloween Party at the Bricktown Ballpark.  Bill and our friends the Nguyens joined us for trick-or-treating, inflatables, mini-pumpkin making, crafts, free food, games, balloon animals, face painting and Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown on the big screen.  My brother Able works for Country and this was their first event of this kind.  I thought it was really nice if a bit too cold by the end.  ( My usual sisterly plug - please call him at 405-314-6209 if  you have any insurance of financial planning needs.  He does a great job!)

6.  Both Thursday and Monday were "Fall Festival" days at the kids' school.  I volunteered for a bit both days. It was like a very small version of a carnival with games to walk around to and win candy.  (Think the fishing booth, stickers on pumpkins, bean bag toss, ring the witch hat, etc...)  It was a weird personality shift as B seemed very comfortable and perky.  M was only there on Monday and seemed more reserved and clingy than her usual chipper self.  Not sure what the story was, but I enjoyed getting to go to all the booths with her.

7.  Then, of course it was time for Halloween itself.  I feel like it should get its own post, but here are a couple close-ups in case I wander off before getting to that.  M did not want her pictures taken, but B was an awesome model this time!

8.  So that brings us to today - today was M's two-year well-child appointment (only what, three months late... grumble, grumble doctor situation).  She was 35 pounds and 36.5 inches tall.  No information on percentages, but did oddly get a BMI?  Anyway, she then had FOUR shots during which I entirely rethought the importance of vaccines.  She just screamed and cried and bucked her little body. I was almost in tears too.  I know they are vital, but wish there was a way to spread them more as she has had dozens and is only two.  They tell me this is it other than flu vaccines until four, but still.  B also had his flu shot and was pretty tough about it.

9.  Did I mention that somewhere in that haze of Halloween candy we also got our storm shelter? We did and it seems quite nice, but in the process they broke our driveway, which was very much not so nice and the repair doesn't look quite so nice, but it is there and we're hoping no more driveway breakage occurs, right?

10.  I, finally, returned to scrapbooking a little this week after nearly a month away.  Coincidence or not I slept so much better the two nights when I did it just before bed. Who knew? I mostly used the scraps on my desk and a couple pieces of the Studio Calico kit or the October Afternoon Rocket Age packet and ended up with some pretty neat pages if I do say so.  Perhaps there are some creative thoughts percolating after all.

Happy Fall to everyone!

Thanks for the correction about my post and I wasn't bashing you for doing so many Halloweens, I was commenting on the present norm and probably showing my age. Old people!
B loves his mustache; kids like masks and dress up because they are free behind them because it is pretend. Good shots, especially the one of Maggie not wanting her pic taken. Reminds me of that one I had taken of you at the studio when you were two. We should compare profiles sometime. Ha Congrats on the three miles! TBW is driving me nuts.
