1. I have been wondering why I was so much more tired this week-- and then I remembered, I haven't run in about 10 days due to various sicknesses and doing some other types of exercise (swimming, zumba, weights, etc). So, back on the treadmill I went and am much more awake this evening. Hooray!
2. Tonight was the last night of swimming classes for this round. B, again, refused to yell help during the safety training-- this drives us and his teacher crazy and Brent may have uttered some sort of ultimatum about next time...In any case, basketball is starting soon!
3. I came to the odd realization that while I LOVE making pie for Thanksgiving and it is in fact almost the only time I make pie, I don't have any actual pie in my baking plans as for the moment planning on Tarte Tatin and Chocolate Mousse for the farm... may have to reconsider.
4. I had an impromptu crafting evening with Tracie this evening. I love our random evening chat/craft adventures and wish we got to do it more. Here's hoping we see each other again soon dear friend.
5. Our kids are growing strangely fond of Yo Gabba Gabba --- I am not. I would rather Sesame Street for hours, but do get some chores done if they are watching it, I suppose.
6. B and M have been having Thanksgiving feasts at school this week. B is fairly tight lipped about what they are eating, but quite enthusiastic about their costuming. His class was the Indians and M's wore hats that looked like turkeys. I asked if there were any Pilgrims. He said he didn't think so, but that Miss Milena's class wore black hats with belts on them--oh right, Pilgrims. We did get lots of fun Thanksgiving art this week too.
7. Tomorrow the kids are out of school and Brent is taking his furlough day for the month. They are so excited for a play day while I work. So far the plans are a trip to the library with Daddy and maybe getting to see Grandma at lunch. I think we are all ready for a break from the work/school routine and very excited for Thanksgiving.
8. We went to the St. Joseph's Thanksgiving Dinner in Bison this week. I had THE best kolache of my life and got to visit with some old friends while enjoying a delicious meal. We were quite early, so as to get the best kolaches, but had a weird experience trying to get into town as both main entrances were closed due to railroad work. Not great timing as this is arguably the highest traffic day Bison sees most years. In good news, it looks like most people found their way around the detour as the dinner was bustling.
9. I again ask Brent for a topic idea and in addition to some of the above the thought I should bring your attention to the Echidna's. Everyone knows about the platypuses being mammals that laying eggs, well the Echidna's (aka spiny anteaters) are also in this group. They principally live in New Guinea and Australia and you can read more from Wikipedia here.
10. As most of you know, I am a big fan of Orangette's sweet potato biscuit recipe. I make this recipe in huge batches and freeze most of them to reheat with later meals. However, I am very intrigued by Smitten Kitchen's new Sweet Potato (and marshmallow) biscuits and might give these a try this week as well as how could they not be awesome and so cute!
I hope you all have a lovely Thanksgiving. We are looking forward to spending lots of time feasting, talking and laughing with our family and friends and hope you do too!

Oh, the sweet potato biscuits! I was going to comment about how much I love them but then I remembered you probably already knew that since I just told you. I will have to try the Smitten Kitchen version soon!
