Note: Day 22 has been updated with the scrapbook pages/decorations here.
Part 1: We hosted a little mini-Christmas celebration at our house for our friends the Morans that were vising from El Paso. We see them only a few times a year so we gathered a few of our friends and enjoyed pizza, fruit/veggies, cake, coffee, a few presents, and great company. It was so lovely to have just a few of our dearest friends drop by to chat about parenthood, Christmas, and shared memories. I loved it!
Intermission: Before Part 2 began, we spent a good hour closing on the refinancing of our house with an overzealous notary. Not the high point of the day and afterwards we were quite ready for some merriment.
Part 2: We celebrated Christmas with Grammy, Granddaddy and the Jones family. Our celebrations featured a delicious dinner, stockings from Santa's elves, lots of presents, and finally cookies and cocoa. The kids loved their hopping balls, foam airplane guns, "ninja" ski hats, and most of all, playing with each other. It was beautiful, simple, and sweet. This small gathering was a prelude to the bigger Rouse/Richards festivities the following day and a wonderful opportunity for some tasty treats and cousin play.
The below pictures will go on the right page along with possibly a picture from the group party in the morning (just as soon as Gavin sends me one as I accidentally left my camera at Granddaddy's the night before!)
