July 3, 2012 - First time at a birthday party - pretty chill guy.
 Week 3

No stats this week as we won't see the Doctor again for awhile.  My sense is that he is growing a bit.  His cheeks seem a little fuller, for example.  He is wearing size 1 diapers, but they only just fit.

E eats about 8 times a day at somewhat varying intervals.  We are still breastfeeding and it is going about the same as last week. About 1/2 of his feedings are supplemented with 4 oz of formula.

Sleeping varies too, which I guess might be the theme for week three, actually.  He is still tending towards long afternoon naps, particularly if we're home rather than out and about.  At night, he sleeps roughly three hours at a time, give or take.  He is sleeping more in his bed, but of course prefers people if we're feeling tired and snuggly he and I will spend that middle slice of the night in our chair.

We had a lot of adventures this week.  He took his first trip to the farm to meet Great Grandpa.  It is always sweet when the generations touch.  My Grandpa in his typical Doctor form checked him over a bit and declared him quite handsome.  On Saturday, he had his first trip to Norman, including a visit to the Sam Noble Natural History Museum and meeting so many of our close friends over lunch.  Sunday, we had our first family trip into the Crystal Bridge with the Palfreymans and Steffens, followed by more downtown Splashpad time.

The fun continued Monday with his first trip to the Science Museum with the Steffens and Hoppers.  The Science Museum marked my first time taking all three of them out by myself, other than to the farm.  It went fairly well, but with four adults and seven kids we spent a lot of the outing counting noses and trying to track down all the littles whereever they might be exploring.  E spent most of all of these outings in the Moby wrap and seems to be very content there.  he does a great job in the car too as long as it is moving.  He is not as content when we stop somewhere, but so long as we keep going he is good, which is a relief after his screaming sister.

Monday also included lots of snuggles from Grandma while I tried to nap a bit.  He is awake and looking around more, it feels like, but still sleeping most of the day.  He accidentally rolled over in his baby gym by himself today.  B, Grandma, and I all saw it and were impressed even while knowing it is an accident.  After his bath this evening his hair was just a bit curly.  So cute, even though I know he is destined for lots of straight hair like the rest of us.  His just after bath hair is so fluffly and sweet smelling.  We still soaking in all the baby sounds and snuggles and trying to figure out an attempt at schedules that work for all of us.

This morning, he woke up around 6 and went right back to sleep without eating so I brought him back to bed with me as he was restless and I was sleepy.  We don't cosleep much, but today, Brent, Everett, & I slept in until 9 or so while the bigs played with the iPad in the living room and I think everyone loved it.  Sweet extra sleep and snuggles.  He then was up almost all morning with just a few cat naps before his long afternoon nap.  Somehow him being awake seemed weird to the bigs and me, but the normal changes so quickly!

This afternoon, we went back to Norman for a fun splash pad party with our friends and the beginning of a long holiday weekend. Tomorrow, he'll get to meet the Korenaks and most of the rest of Brent's family.  It should be a very fun fourth week of E and 4th of July!
