Before B started School last week, M had been fairly hesitant about going back to MDO. She (allegedly) didn't like her friends and just wanted to stay with Mama (awwww). After the open house things were looking up. This morning she was SO ready. She was up and searching for a beautiful dress with a big smile, which is unusual as she is not a morning person. She was incredibly eager to head out for her 1st day pictures. She chose an outfit with lots of pink, fluffy skirt, sparkles, big flower bow, a braid, and a beautiful sweet 3 year old girl.
This is "her" special picture spot by the roses, but oddly I had some trouble getting her "real" smile other than the first picture above so we tried some other things like saying silly phrases,
Obviously the first day of school requires sparkly shoes. She ran around the entire cul de sac in these shoes while we were waiting to go drop off brother. She was so excited and it was such a beautiful morning for it.
We dropped off brother first and then there is a big time lag before her drop off time. When I go back to work, E's drop off will be in the middle here, but for now, there's a gap. So, we had coffee/milk together and then it was finally time. She walked in holding her Daddy's hand wearing her new cherry backpack from Grammie.
She checked out her new room, which is actually the room B was in last year as they have shifted classrooms around over the summer.
then right off to play! She says her favorite part of the day was naptime, which is weird. Her teacher, Ms. V. is awesome. I admire and appreciate her so much for all her work with B in prior years. Exhibit 1: M came home with an two projects on the very first day! Ms. V. reports that M was a great class leader and had a good first day. She is already talking about her curly haired friend pictured here and ready to go play and learn some more tomorrow. I love that she is so happy there and that both my kids love school. We are so very blessed to have such good people looking over them when we are not. Hooray for a new wonderful year full of possibilities, promise, and fun.
