E rode in the jogging stroller without the infant seat for the first time.
We went on a whim, and Grandma and Uncle Able joined in the fun on a beautiful day.
These animals have hearts on their rears!
Grey's Zebra's are cool - with thinner stripes than the zebras we normally see (and would be cooler if I'd brought the right camera lens...)
The one year old Okapi baby (left) was having a great time running hard and frolicking all over the pen.
Riding on shoulders rocks!
The adult Okapi were not frolicking, but are fascinating.
E succeeded repeatedly in getting his socks and shoes off. (No worries, the Moby wrap also works as a blanket so we tucked him right in.
But not until after we snapped a cute picture of his tiny toes.
M bonded with the various animal statues. Someday, I'm going to make am minibook of our kids with this baby rhino statute. over time as we visit him almost every time.
The tortoise statute got snuggles too.
These Galapagos Tortoises are one year old.
Their parents were much older and larger.
We spotted Brent's favorite Monitor Lizard (can you?)
Daddy and M explored all the smaller exhibits of frogs, snakes, lizards, and cockroaches.
The last lizard was right up against the glass--- if you were tall enough to see it or lucky enough to have a helper.
M declared the flamingos her favorite and most "pink" animal at the zoo.
Today, we had a great time, as always, on a beautiful day. I'm so glad Able and Grandma could join us and we also ran into some soccer friends. Hooray for lovely days in the middle of winter!

It is so sad that B was not in a picture mood yesterday, BUT, he did allow me to hold his hand for a minute or two and we had a nice chat on the bench while waiting for Able. Growing up is tough...apparently. My favorite thing was the baby Galapagos turtles exactly the size of a box turtle. They will probably out live us all, those cute little guys. I'm sad they can't be with mom and dad though.
