Saturday morning was VERY productive at our house. Brent hung up our drapes. I finished planting bulbs and started on mulching. Brent went to Home Depot for more mulch and supplies and got a hair cut. We did all the laundry and dishes and cleaned several areas of the house. I even graded my student's voice board for the week. All of this and more before B woke up from his nap around 4. Then we headed to the farm for dinner and the game. The chili was great and OU's victory was incredibly impressive. I helped my mom make pies for the Bison Dinner on Sunday and we sunk into bed to catch up.
Sunday we had pancakes for breakfast and prepared for the Bison excitement. The Bison dinner is a fixture in the community and the menu remains stable and is t
I arrived early with my mom for the portion where the ladies set up and visit. We had a wonderful time catching up with Emily and other ladies while we shopped the bake sale and handed over our contributions to the dinner. The boys came later and we stood in this incredible line that wrapped two sides of the parish hall. It did move quickly and my dad watched B while we served ourselves. (My dad would note that his assigned job was "Courtesy" this translates to hauling heavy roasters and making sure there are plates, forks, etc. He endeavored to be very courteous in fulfilling these duties and I think succeeded admirably).
With a bounty of food, B only wanted orange jello, rolls and pumpkin pie. My favorite part is the stuffing and getting to have coconut cream pie which I never make. After eating, I ran into an old high school friend, Lisa (Gerken) Hladik that I hadn't seen since my wedding. Her twin one year old girls were there and so cute! About this time B started escaping into the crowd so we headed home for naptime while my parents finished their duties at the dinner.
In the afternoon, B climbed all over the tractor at my parent's house.
We took a tremendous amount of pictures during our farm outing this weekend. You can see a selection of them and others from November here.
