It's a.....

GIRL!

Amazing, no? I found myself surprised, happy and strangely nervous. I think Brent said last time upon finding out it was a boy that he felt there was more pressure on him to be the "Dad" with a boy. Oddly, I think I feel his pain. I very very much have wanted a girl, but now am nervous as to to the unknown of that task. Brent says I know about girls already as I am one, but I think being the mom is much different and much harder. There are some awesome female relationships in our families though that I treasure so I'm looking forward to it too. As well as the delight of little girl clothes and decorating. Weirdly, tried to picture myself as Mary's mom was watching her daughter try on wedding dresses, but that was way too far down the road to conceptualize. Generally, I am so excited and delighted to just know! Brent did warn B there was going to be lots more new things to buy and lots of pink around so I guess they are both prepared? Brent and I would be happy either way, but having both genders will be awesome and I'm sure B will be a good big brother.

Otherwise, the ultrasound went well. No surprises or problems that they mentioned. I think the umbilical cord is fine this time. She (wow, love gender pronouns) was facing my back so no really good face shots. B came a long and even though it was during naptime and we had some reservations was OK. No crying or worries. He did mostly want to play with everything in the room which was a little distracting to Brent I think, but Brent assures me he got to see nearly everything. B did watch a little and seemed OK with that being the baby (mostly watched during the review of the skull so probably not the clearest human like portion). Was sleepy and snuggly with Daddy by the end. Somehow more real now that soon there will be two!

(Ps... Yes, we did go to Target and get some pink and purple girly things... we were there anyway, just couldn't help ourselves:))

I am so happy for you! The relationships between moms and daughters is so incredibly awesome and I am glad you will get to be part of that. Mother and son relations are awesome as well, but totally different, all the way along. Hugs and kisses to you both. Grandma.

YEA!!! I am SOOO excited for you! It is so much fun having a little girl. Kaedyn will be excited about having a baby girl around! Watch out! That baby girl will have Brent wrapped around her tiny, delicate little finger in NO time!;)

I see lots of frilly socks and ruffled bloomers! We needed to even out the boy/girl ratio, huh Kaedyn?

I agree, Brent will be a little puddle of mush with a baby girl.

Congratulations, guys! Another new adventure begins.
