Ten on Tuesday

1.  I love watching LOST with my husband. It is random and frustrating at times, but still fun.  This is actually the first season we watched live vs. on DVD, but a good time all around.  (I'll admit I missed a bit of some seasons while studying for the bar or doing other things, but I have been briefed thoroughly).  It is amazing ot think it is almost over :(

2. You remember the massive postings about my brother's marathon, right? Well, on Friday he injured himself rather badly in his kickball league game so he may not be able to run the much shorter Boulder race at the end of May.  He is very frustrated, but focusing on work for the moment.

3.  Speaking of which he is busily selling me some life insurance and it is a very real conversation to contemplate why you have life insurance, what your goals are, what will happen if you die at X at, seriously.  We do have lots of life insurance, but still a weird conversation.  (If anyone is interested, let me know as I'm sure he'd be glad to hook you up).

4.  Speaking of which (wow, this is getting dark) the very last thing we did before leaving for Vegas in March was signing our Wills.  I'm a lawyer and a perfectionist and had been letting the perfect get in the way of the OK for years and decided to just sign something before we left so there was at least a little structure.  It needs work, but I feel a bit better.  Granted, it was a bit awkward to ask my in-laws as we were leaving our kids with them witness our wills-- Makes everything a bit more real, but it does feel nice to have at least some minimal structure in place until I find a lawyer I trust to work out a better product (I am not a trust and estates specialist by any means). I do suggest that you think about doing one too, particularly those of you with kids.  I can help you try to find a lawyer if you like.

5. National Scrapbooking day was this weekend. I, sort of, participated and did several layouts for the challenges.  Amazingly, I've probably scrapbooked more in the last month than in any recent period in my life.  I'm not sure why, but it feels like it is coming more easily and I'm doing better making time for it.  Above is one of my favorites from this weekend.  Sometimes simple is best.  I find that having challenges is a good inspiration for me as well and have done several in the last few weeks vie Shimelle, Two Peas in a Bucket, Scrapbook.com, Write.Click.Scrapbook, Stacy Julian and more.  Below is one from Shimelle's class that I particularly liked and is loosely a scraplift of my blog friend Michelle whose birthday was today (Happy Birthday!):

6. I did my first "double dip" at Zumba last week-- meaning  my first day with two Zumba classes. I did my normal 10:15am class on Friday and then did the evening class with Mina.  I love both and made it through just fine. With about 15 minutes to go in the second class the song was "The Floor is on Fire." This is roughly the same as the old "the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire" classic, but substituting floor for roof as we are dancing.  It basically involves a lot of jumping. I did manage to pull it off and was so proud of myself for doing both. I wasn't even particularly sore the next day, such progress from hardly being able to move after my first zumba class.

7.  Last weekend was a miracle. As mentioned in my last post, we actually just did basic family things all weekend.  I can't remember when that last happened and by late Sunday it had started feel odd, but it was a great break.

8.  A week from today I will be in DC for the first time in a year.  I can hardly believe it has been that long. I am both excited and worried.  Both kids will, I think, be with Miss Courtney Tuesday -Friday.  Brent will have to be in charge of all the ferrying around.  I'm sure it will work out, and that I'll love being back with my DC folks, but it is weird too.  I think it will be great for me and can hardly wait to go, but just hope everything goes well at home.

9.  One product I'm loving just now is Bare Escentuals' Lip gloss in Cassis.  I put it on every time I get in the car (at least four times a day).  It smells wonderful, looks good, and I feel better with just that shimmer of color.  Great find on a random shopping trip to Sephora some months ago.

10.  Today was another tough work day and it is a tough work time for Brent as well.  We, however, had a great evening together venting, talking, watching LOST, and relaxing.  We remain so different, but so good together.  He makes my world work.  I love it.

Wow, that's weird. I think I got through my ten and didn't do one that is really about the kids.  In good news, they are both doing well.  We're enjoying spring and spending time out back everyday.  They make me so happy (and sometimes so frustrated too).  Thanks for checking in and hopefully we'll have more stories later in the week!  Meanwhile, my friend Amber did her own Ten on Tuesday which you can find here if you need more late Tuesday (ok, early Wednesday) fun.
