Heartbroken

As most of you know by now, my father unexpectedly died on Tuesday.  I am so heart broken, we all are.  I am not really ready to write about it yet even though there are so many wonderful things to be said.  Below is the obituary as a start:

The mass of Christian Burial for Danny Blakley will be held at 10:00PM Saturday, September 11, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bison. Rev. Marvin F. Leven will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Douglas. There will be a visitation Friday evening at 7:00PM in the Henninger-Hinson Chapel.

Danny was born August 14, 1949 in Enid to Carl and Violette (Dunn) Blakley and died Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at age 61.  He graduated from Pioneer High School in 1967.  He attended Oklahoma State University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Agronomy and later earned his Master's degree in Education.  He began his teaching career at Pioneer in 1971 where he taught until his death.

Danny was a gentle loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, teacher and friend.  He loved to teach and encourage his students at Pioneer.  He was a farmer/rancher who loved and cared for the land. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his beloved bride Debra, his three children: Abbey Violet Richards and husband Brent, of Edmond, Able Worth Blakley, Denver, CO, and Audra Blakley Korenak and husband Zachary, of St. Louis, MO, and three grandchildren: Brendan William and Maggie Jewel Richards and Zane Able Korenak.  Also surviving is his brother David Blakley of Douglas.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to the Danny Blakley Scholarship Fund through FIrst Bank and Trust in Covington.

Condolences may be made to the family online at www.enidwecare.com
