My St. Louis journey began today and the theme for the day was most definitely patterns and waiting.
I woke up early (3:45am) and took an American Airlines flight to DFW - Patterns
I waited through an unusually long (for me) layover - Waiting
At Audra's house we gathered, my mom, brother, sister, Zach and Zane - Patterns
We fell back into the routine of our last visit. - Patterns
I decorated a cake for my brother's birthday and made him soup and cheese bread for dinner, back in the kitchen - Patterns
My mom and I read our books during lulls in the baby watching action - Waiting
The boys played bean bags together - Patterns
We watched the Godfather together - Waiting
Zane laughed, smiled and chewed on his hands - Patterns
He slept cuddled in his blacket - Patterns + Waiting
We all drank Diet Pepsi and ate chips - Patterns
We looked at pictures and wandered the internet - Waiting
My mom cleaned the kitchen and chatted with each of us - Patterns
She took a nap - Waiting
We love on baby Zane - Patterns
There are kinks in our patterns. I find myself waiting for the rest of our family-- my kids, my husband, my Dad. Zach won all the bean bag games, which rarely happens with my skilled brother. There are questions and planning and the uncertainty about the plans and packing for the next step.
For now, we blog, watch, snuggle and enjoy the rain our patterns, our waiting, most of our family together just together celebrating this day and building our strength for the next days.
