1. December Daily has been great for blog traffic Day 4 about the cookie party is my new most viewed blog post!
2. December Daily is surprisingly time consuming. It is hard to explain how so much of my evening disappears into this. First, upload, review, delete, tag and select photos along with various uploading of portions of the day's pictures. Then create collages and select any individual pictures to be included as well as where they will go in book. Then the journaling and blog updating. Next, I copy the text into work, change the font to Monotype Corsiva, do another editing pass and various formatting things, print and add to my book.
Finally, I select patterned paper to go behind the 5x7 collage and at the bottom of the text page along with some embellishments. This does not even include the time reading Ali's daily updates and a few of my friends that are doing it too. One week in, I'm much ahead of last year, but having a bit of fatigue too. I do like how it is turning out and others doing it and commenting here are keeping it going.
3. Today was the first day back to Zumba since the costocondritis onset. As hard as it is to believe, I probably only went to Zumba once in November and less than four times in October. So ready to be back in the gym. Sadly, am a bit sore this evening through my chest, not too bad, but a reminder to not get too enthusiastic.
4. Sometimes, just sometimes, I really miss going into the office and sitting at a desk near/with my colleagues. Sigh. More often though, I remain delighted at the flexibility and getting so much more time with my kids.
5. I cannot fathom why B fights the steps of his evening routine of taking his bath, brushing his teeth, etc... He knows he has to do it, but fights or does each step SO SO slowly lately. Seriously contemplating timing how long it takes to put his PJs on-- it defies imagination.
6. Today was the first snow of the season. (Did you miss it?) It snowed for roughly two minutes here. The kids and I ran out and reveled in it. B is hoping for more.
7. In good news on the Wii games front it appears that Super Mario Galaxy is finally fading from B's favorites and we're back to Toy Story 3 The Video Game and the old favorite Mario Kart Wii.
8. Our annual deluge of packages has started to arrive for Christmas. We did pick out a kitchen at last and I accidentally figured out what Brent got me as it apparently was shipped in just its box :( Any way, starting to feel a bit more like Christmas and list of "To Shop For" is slowly decreasing.
9. Able is BACK!! This is, of course, the biggest news. We saw him today and he started to work. Looks like he may be staying here for awhile. I am delighted he is back and so hope everything goes smoothly during the job transition. I don't think I can quite wrap my head around the wonder that is having him here and around indefinitely now. I am so excited that my kids will get to have him around and that we will too. So awesome!!
10. Able is also volunteering for some babysitting when not working which is awesome on days like tomorrow when Brent and I fail to consult each other and discover the day before that we're both going to be gone all evening... yes, we rock. (I will be at the Michael Buble concert which may or may not qualify as rock, actually).
Off to work on my other posts and try to increase the holiday spirit a bit as not much Christmas going on here thus far this week.
