Day 20: Candy Canes+

Left Page - Stickers, tiny circle tag + pocket paper - Crate Paper; Washi Tape - AC; Journal Cards - Echo Park, Elle's Studio; Button - MME; Tag by Ormolu, bow by Jenni Bowlin; PP - MME - 12 Days of Christmas and Lily Bee
Today, we have two tags to tell two stories of today! (Yes, this is ironic after being a bit over the crafting yesterday that today we did extra crafting and added bonus pages.  That happens.).  The first story started early in the morning with our candy cane hunt.  The kids woke to find their baskets outside their door and set off to find the treats.  (This is a bit like an easter egg hunt for those new to this tradition).  Each child found 6 candy canes, but M gave one of hers to B as she found it in his Advent calendar, which I thought was sweet.  Just as last year, she proceeded to taste test the chocolate mint candy canes and B hung his on the tree.  He now tells me he does not like mint and is requesting the colorful fruit ones from Santa.

The second story was M's first haircut.  I'll document this more fully elsewhere, but thought we'd add a a bit here too as it is part of our December story.  Janna (Brent's cousin) does my hair and we asked if she'd honor us by doing M's first haircut as well.  M was so very good, calm, no crying (or talking even), and fairly  good about looking straight ahead.  Janna was great with her and it was over before I knew it.  She had been asking all day when it was time and was ready to go.  She seemed happy afterwards and did tell me on the way home that it didn't even hurt. (I think we went over this before, but probably a discovery when you've never had a haircut before and B couldn't talk at his first haircut so hadn't really pondered this fear).
Extra Middle page with small picture of M getting her hair cut
This might seem random, but this sticking out the tongue thing while concentrating/working is a common Blakley trait that at least my brother, Dad and I all do... Maybe others?
Extra Middle page with small picture of M getting her hair cut (and yes, that droopy twine is bothering me and will be fixed!)
I like this one because you can see her hair cut, as well as her Daddy (and in the actual image Janna is smiling in the background, but not sure why that was cropped here).
Right page - Canvas page from Prima book + stamping - Will add pictures from the Candy Cane Hunt

This picture was in the morning pre-hair cut, so you might be able to see the difference--- other than the bed head.
