Ten on Tuesday

1. I feel I should start with a bus experiment update after yesterday's post.  As I would have predicted, B waited happily for us at the bus stop and then bolted like a rabbit homeward when the bus arrived.  He did make his way successfully home by bus and enjoyed it even though it took nearly 50 minutes from the time school ended!  He wants to do it again... and try the morning again too... we'll see how it goes.

2.  The littles and I walked down to the bus stop to, you know, make sure he got off.  We arrived WAY too early, like 30+ minutes too early.  Also, I locked myself out of the house while we were leaving with no wallet, bottles, or formula :(  Brent came home and rescued us.  I felt pretty ridiculous standing around there for so long, but guess it worked out. Now we know!

3.  Dragonfly soccer has resumed!  Now, with a bigger 6 and under field, but all the same team mates with only one addition.  It is awesome.  They all are ready to play, happy, know and like each other, and know basic rules.  The new field means less time spent going out of bounds and a great fun game.  Loved it!  We have had none of the early season issues we had with B in the past, so I think it is fair to say that we're all happy!

4.  The "tigers" (aka M's team), not so much.  They are in disarray.  The field is tiny so they go out of bounds a lot and have no idea how to restart the game.  They spend 1/2 the time trying to get 4 players on the field (hopefully ones that are not crying or hitting other people!).  It took forever to play the game in the drizzly rain and I think everyone was miserable.  There are often as many adults on the field as kids and M seemed to think dancing with her daddy was much more fun... this whole 3yo soccer thing was probably a mistake.

4.  After a LONG day at double soccer, the kids came home and played with our neighborhood kids outside for hours.  I mention this because it basically never happens and we loved it.  They all took care of each other and had a grand old time.  So awesome!  We talked to our other neighborhood kids for awhile today so perhaps it is a trend!

6.  The neighbors mentioned to us a fairy ball happening in the Paseo Saturday so we cobbled together some costumes to join in the fun.  Above - our elf and fairy.

It is hard to see here, but E was a leprechaun complete with shamrocks on his PJs or maybe the sandman with his sleepy hat.

7.  Once at the fairy ball, the most fun was playing in the plants along the road... seriously... They had moved things inside due to somewhat marginal weather so lots of lines and not enough dancing.  We ran into Peter, Bethany & Ashtyn (as well as our neighbors) but left fairly early.  Dressing up was still tons of fun though.

8. E @ 14 weeks - E did a superb job sleeping last night. He woke up once and I didn't even hear him, but understand that Brent got up with him.  He also tolerated the Soccer day very well even with the drizzle weather.  This weekend is his baptism and we're so excited about all the visitors and fun (don't ask me about progress on those plans... there of course is barely any, but he does have something to wear!)  He seems to be doing well with Ms. K and that is good. He is eating a bit less again and the new formula still seems to be the right path.  Today, he seemed to be watching video games and not paying attention when I was talking.  It is FAR too soon for that small boy... how can gaming be genetic?  Anyway, he is full of smiles and trying to get his hands in his mouth.  There are still some coos and "talking" but less than with M, I think.  I bought my plane tickets for DC in October and about fell apart to think of leaving him so soon, but that's the way it works for us and it will be fine. Meanwhile, I'm soaking in every minute I do get with these adorable chubby cheeks.  Love him so!

9.  The kids insisted on handing out Savory samples in between games.  They are much better at this than I am and got some tips from Granddaddy who is a sales pro.  Very cute and who can resist these kids and free spices? ( A few people, actually, but I think they are adorable and love their passion for the store.)

10.  The best part of the tiger soccer might be M's "pink" athletic apparel.  I love how girl power sports is now and how much she loves pink!
