I've lost my voice and everyone around here is either just done being sick, sick, or getting sick. Consequently, the class I was teaching at the Spice Shop this weekend has been post-poned until after Thanksgiving when I can, you know, talk again.
The winner of the Black Canyon Chili Powder Give away is Commentor #3 - Mary! I will send the spices your way if you email me your new address! Everyone that entered though will get a small sample at least for participating. Find me and I'll find you some spices :)
I will likely have a larger role in cooking for Brent's family Thanksgiving this year, but am less full of ideas than usual, do you have any suggestions? I suspect I'll be making side dishes and dessert, if that helps.
We're trying to get focused on being thankful. Actually, the biggest help this year is that the kids come home with some Thanksgiving craft or project everyday reminding us and helping us refocus. The cutest bit so far is this video of M's class singing their turkey song (which I hope you can see via the link as it won't let me embed it here).
It has been a rough week, but mostly our kids have been great troupers about the chaos, shifting schedules, sick mom and their own sniffles. I, for one, am ready to begin my thanks giving today.
- Thank goodness for awesome kids.
- Thanks also for Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks which magically gift me my voice back for an hour or two if I'm willing to splurge. Weird, but true.
- I'm also thankful that I got to visit with fellow GW alums last night and discovered how weirdly interconnected we all are in the small world that is OKC.
- Thanks to amazing family, friends, colleagues, doctors, nurses, and neighbors who have been a help in this difficult week.
