December Daily 2015 - Day 5

Day 5 was a BIG day and has a lot of pages to reflect that.  Weeks ago, Brent suggested hosting a Star Wars movie marathon to watch all six movies in one day. I adore any reason to have people come over so we made it happen.  The Wainrights were there for the entire day and about 40 or so other people drifted in and out.

Page one is a collage of people watching the movies together and crafting.  The perler bead crafts Chrissie brought were nearly as popular as the movie!

I had a lot to show and discuss so I added two more pages and an insert for journaling.

At about 6:15 or so we pause the movie and went to the Edmond Parade of Lights.  This is an annual tradition that I love and a fairly random local parade that only lasts about 10 minutes.  The Wainrights, Korenaks, and Warrens came with us.  It was great fun and happily warmer than it has been most years.  Sadly, no bands this year though, which was a bummer. The bottom left image is Zane and M watching the parade from the back of a stranger's pickup, which I rather love.

With so many photos to share, I made an insert for journaling out of one of the pages in the journaling notepad that came with the kit.  It was great to have the space and visual interest.

On the back of the journaling, I added some glittery paper from the kit that I rather loved. Always room for more glitter in December Daily, right?

The last page features a Sirius Black quote (which is appropriate on several levels both because it talks about light and dark as in Star Wars, but also because we finished Book 3 of Harry Potter the night before).  The bottom image is one of the many light saber battles that happened over the course of the day.  I love having all the extra room in this house.  It meant we could basically dedicate this big open room to light sabers and manage to have lots of fun without hurting people or bothering the people watching the movie.

It was really an awesome day and great confirmation that the new house "works" as we'd hoped and allows us to have lots of people over comfortably.  Here's to many more gatherings.  May the force be with you.
