Day 21: Granddaddy Time

Today, my normal childcare arrangements were off, but luckily Granddaddy stepped in to watch the kids while I worked.  They both were incredibly excited to get to go hang out with Granddaddy instead of with their normal school/babysitter set ups.  From what I can tell, B mostly played Kirby and M mostly listened to Granddaddy read Twas the Night Before Christmas many, many times (at her request). For the rest of the afternoon she would randomly say "Dash away, Dash away all!" In happy news, they will be headed back to Grammy & Granddaddy's for various parties and things a portion of each of the next three days too!

Left Page - 6x8 of M and Granddaddy with her book of the day

Right Page - fun with distress stickles in Wild Honey- It is hard to see here, but they are on one tag and the star so a little sparkly in person.

Personal Note - I'm tired. Today, I bought a ton of groceries, made three batches of fudge and one batch of caramel corn, wrapped about 10 presents, tried to help orchestrate the closing of our refinance on Friday, did my job, which was wildly busy with a huge variety of tasks, began the cleaning process, and all my normal, you know, parenting, cooking meals, potty training, blogging, etc... There are at least three more things I "should" do today, but its not happening.  I did the DD entry as it is a sort of craft therapy for me and it did work as I feel better even than when I wrote this initially a bit ago.  This is our last free evening time before Christmas so probably not going to be much rest for the weary.

Part of me resists writing this as I don't want to be a complainer and my Granddad's whole "show now weakness" mantra or my own occasional "Yes, I can do it all" attitude, but this weariness and trying to do so many things that I love is part of our story too and therefore worth remembering and sharing with others in this boat too or maybe my kids later when they are trying to do it all too.  Tomorrow my work day ends early and we are going to a friend's wedding in the evening so maybe that will be a good rest and way to relax?

I think it is perfectly fine to show some weakness because you are human and humans really can't do it all without getting exhausted. It is also part of the Christmas story, doing some many wonderful things can wear you out, especially when you are trying to grow a human at the same time. Love you sis!

Yeah, I agree with Audie. That growing a human being inside of you requires a lot of energy, whether or not we think it should. No need to go clear to the wall all the time. Sounds like tons of fun, at any rate. I love the "dash away" part. Hope I get to hear her say it.

I don't even know why it made me put some different letters in there and so repeat my comment. I was just following orders. Sorry.
