This is a bit more practical Five on Friday as below are some things we're actually using and enjoying that you might enjoy too.
1. Tom's of Maine Anticavity Children'stoothpaste, Silly Strawberry - My Mom gave the kids a sample size of this at the farm once and they (and we) love it. It isn't crazy colored or filled with sparkles, but it is organic, tastes good, and seems to work. It makes me feel like we're not just brushing their teeth with junk.
2. Lock&Lock BPA Free Airtight Container, I just bought a similar set from Woot this week and they are awesome. Our set has lots of smallish containers that are going into the kids' lunch with carrots or blueberries or other veggie treats while the bigger ones are perfect for leftovers. So far, a definite win and lots of our old stuff is getting purged out (as most seems to be missing its lid??)
3. OXO Good Grips Multi-Purpose Pastry Scraper/Chopper - This is one of those random silly things that is maybe $10 that I put off buying forever as surely I didn't need a tool just for getting dough off my counter. I was wrong. I year or two Brent bought it for me at last and it is so wonderful. I do use it to help get things like pizza crust off my counter, but also to clean the counter, scoop chopped things up, etc... Hard to explain maybe, but definitely a big process improvement in our kitchen.
4. Stoneware Loaf Pan - Pampered Chef - This is another thing I waited awhile to buy. I have long loved the Pampered Chef Large Round Stone to make pizza, but hadn't tried any of the other stoneware. At long last, I did and now we're happily enjoying better crust on our various breads. Most recently, the English Muffin bread this week--- that we've subsequently discovered makes incredibly good garlic bread!
5. Madras Shorts - I recently bought B two sets of Lego Star Wars cloths for summer via Zulily. One of them came with madras shorts. I was a little bit unsure if that would work, but he and I both LOVE them. (Just as soon as I remember to take a photo I will share). Meanwhile, I'm now on the look out for more and B is excited to look like Uncle Able in his cool new duds (the above are from Gap).
I hope you have a lovely Easter weekend!
